The first stage of the Cronulla High School upgrade is now complete and will be ready for use on day 1 of term 1 2024.
I joined 2024 student leaders, Principal Tony Ibrahim and Deputy Principal Susan Geldart for a tour of the new “M Block” on the last school day of 2023.
The new building includes six advanced teaching spaces, new staff common room, other new staff facilities, modern student restrooms, and a new canteen.
Senior students will enjoy start of the art learning spaces from the start of 2024. I thank Tony Ibrahim and the school P&C for their input during the design phase and the entire school community for its enthusiasm and patience.
The previous Liberal Government announced an extensive upgrade of Cronulla High School in 2019. Construction began earlier this year.
The remainder of the upgrades will be completed progressively in 2024 and 2025. These include another new building (“L Block”) (bringing the number of new teaching spaces to ten, plus additional core facilities), renovation of some existing buildings, new covered walkways and a major extension of the school hall.
Lighting the menorah ahead of the festival of Chanukah, at Parliament of NSW this week.
Rooted in history, Chanukah transports us back to a time when a small group, against all odds, stood up for their right to practise their faith.
They had enough oil to light the menorah for just one day.
But in what became the miracle of Chanukah, the light lasted eight days, a powerful testament to hope, resilience, and the belief that even in the darkest of times, a single flame can illuminate the path forward.
Even here, in NSW, this encouragement is as meaningful today as it was then, reminding us to bring our own light into the world, especially when it’s most needed. ... See MoreSee Less

Mark Speakman haven’t heard you thoughts regarding the nurses. Are you going to support the nurses or are you the same as Mr Minns & you simply don’t care. How about you show NSW Nurses and Midwives' Association what your views are as a liberal member.
My husband is a deputy captain in the RFS but stop the slaughter of the remaining brumbys in the snowy mountains ….we are devastated at the slaughter of these beautiful gods creatures …we protect sharks and snakes but not these magnificent creatures …stand up to labor

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

The Cronulla High School upgrade recently reached a major milestone, with the second of two new buildings now being used for staff and students.
The new ‘Building L’ was ready for Term 3 and followed the opening of the new ‘Building M’ for the start of 2024. Across the two buildings there are ten new classrooms, as well as staff spaces, student and staff amenities, a new canteen, an administration area, and new staff car park.
The school hall was also recently extended, together with a new library entrance and improved walkways. The school upgrade is due to be completed early next year, with renovations within two additional existing buildings to provide more classrooms, storage, staff facilities and bathrooms.
The school’s upgrade was planned, designed and funded by the NSW Liberals, with great input from the school community.
